Our wedding went flawlessly, and it was largely due to the experience and professionalism of Jeff Hay.
We asked him to do our ceremony music as well as the reception, and it was well worth it; smooth execution and on top of everything without being noticed (sounds impossible, but Jeff can do it!)
Not only did he write up our timeline, he helped us stick to it.
The games he chose for our crowd were amazing! Everyone got a good laugh getting to know us and our parents better. And, as promised, even the timid and shy got right into it.
The great aunt’s all agreed “That Jeff Hay fellow is just wonderful!”
And the kids were absolutely sure “Best night of our lives!”
Jeff’s rapport with children is amazing, and the suitcase of tricks was a huge hit!

We wanted to send along another note of thanks for your amazing work with our wedding back in May. I admit that because we were having such a small group (~50 people) I wasn’t initially sure whether hiring a DJ would be worth the expense for a small group. But we’re SO glad we went ahead and booked you – it made a world of difference for our reception and was worth every cent.
I can’t overstate how much we appreciate all you were able to help us with — it went way beyond just helping us choose music! You really listened when we first talked about the type of wedding we wanted and you caught on to details right from the get-go. In the week leading up to the wedding you were so helpful as we set the timeline/schedule for the reception (and I appreciate how you worked around our busy schedule that week). And then on the day-of, you did an amazing job of reading the crowd and getting everybody involved in your great post-dinner/pre-dance games. I would say to your future clients, even if you think games won’t be “your thing,” do consider Jeff’s suggestions – I never would have imagined how well they turned out!
True to your word, we’ve had so many of our guests tell us that our wedding was the most fun and entertaining one they had ever been to — and so much of that is because of you!

DJ Haymaker played a pivotal role in the huge success of our recent June 2011 wedding! I would highly recommend his services to anyone in the Okanagan area looking for a DJ with complete confidence.
Right from the earliest stages of inquiring and booking his service, it was clear that his experience speaks for itself. He was extremely organized and professional. He also genuinely wants to make your night special and stress free. His couple’s questionaire makes it easy and comfortable to share what you want to share with him, and allows him in turn to fit right into your party of selected friends and family as if he’s known you as long as they have. In fact, I can honestly say I had more guests express how fantastic he was at my reception than I had complimenting my dress!
Jeff also had excellent and informed suggestions throughout the planning process to help make our wedding a night to remember. From the ceremony layout and song choices, to the reception timeline and activities, when he has ideas or suggestions to make your event more fun you can trust him with confidence! For example, he helped us break our reception up a bit by adding some hilarious games that the tables could participate in.
He couldn’t have been more right about the difference those games can make in dance participation and keeping the party going. Even over a month after our wedding I’m still hearing guests talk about it and specifically they’re talking about the elements and party games that Jeff brought to the night.
I really felt that we were completely taken care of and that he made it easy for us to just relax and enjoy the party knowing that everything was going to go perfectly and stay on track. He kept us in the loop of what was coming throughout the evening, while not burdening us with details we didn’t need to worry about.
I can’t speak highly enough in praise of Jeff for what he did for us and our wedding. I hope that anyone reading this is fortunate enough to have an upcoming event that they need a DJ for, because if so – you’ve found the man for the job!

Planning a wedding from out of town is never the easiest thing to do, but I think we surrounded ourselves in the best the Okanagan has to offer, and the result was amazing.
Right from our first contact with Jeff, everything seemed to fit well and the stress level dropped substantially. It was like we had known each other for years!
Jeff worked around our schedule, was quick to suggest ideas and responsive to our own. He was really big on making this our wedding, and best suited to us.
He took the time to familiarize himself with a new location and a tricky setting, allowing the event to flow much smoother and making a few less decisions for me.
On the day of the wedding, Jeff ensured that people were in the right spots, knew their cues and he wasn’t phased by the minor delays. At the reception, he read the crowd to a tee, keeping us laughing and dancing throughout the night. Numerous guests have commented that this was the best wedding they have been to, or the one they had the most fun at.
We really enjoyed working with Jeff. I can’t imagine how the wedding would have gone without him on our team.
When we first started planning our wedding we had to ask around about venues, photographers, music, flowers etc… We kept hearing “You have to use Dj Haymaker”
From our first meeting with Jeff, we felt so comfortable with him and were very impressed with all his suggestions and ideas he had.

Having attended a wedding DJ Haymaker performed at we knew we were getting a top end entertainer however we were pleasantly surprised that we got so much more.
During the planning stages DJ Haymaker was readily available and took much of the stress out of the process by offering exceptional guidance and through his experience provided a number of suggestions that in the end made our big day even better. The ceremony was beautifully done offering a classy atmosphere with a pinch of fun, which was exactly what we wanted! The most telling thing about DJ Haymaker’s ceremony performance is that, like a good referee you did not notice he was there because the music flowed so well.
As for the reception the resounding feedback we received following the wedding is that it was the ‘funnest’ wedding our guests have ever attended and we could not agree more! DJ Haymaker was a big part of making the night so fun. He kept guests engaged with an array of games from Survivor to The Newlywed Game that got guests on their feet and not wanting to miss a moment. With all the fun and entertainment aside what really made DJ Haymaker a great DJ and MC for the evening was how well he created the atmosphere we discussed leading up to the wedding.
It was everything we had hoped for and couldn’t imagine a better performance on DJ Haymaker’s part.
Our experience with DJ Haymaker started the moment we found out that we were going to have him DJ our wedding.
We met with him soon after we heard the great news, and so the planning began! DJ Haymaker came to us with an open and creative mind, dedicated to creating the perfect day for us. He wanted to get to know us, and to help us; he was there for us as more than just a DJ.
When the big day finally came, we knew that we didn’t have to worry about a thing. DJ Haymaker did more for us than we could ever ask for. His flexibility and mobility allowed us to have music in our remote ceremony location (3 hours away!!), and also a great set up for our reception.
Jeff created a flow for our ceremony, and then took control of the crowd at our reception and really made every lasting memory that much more amazing. His knowledge of music really provided the backbone to the party that we were hoping for. He was able to read the crowd and play the right music for the right moments. At the end of the day, we would not hesitate for a second to recommend DJ Haymaker for any event!
Mark and I just wanted to thank you for all the work you did to make our day so great and wonderful. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you throughout the last months of preparing and organizing for the wedding! Despite one or two hiccups in the weather, everything went off without a hitch and Mark and I ended up having an absolute awesome time!!
In fact by the end of night – just like you predicted – we had guests coming up to us saying just how much fun they were having! Great time!!! We know that in lieu of the weather, you had to do a few last minute rearrangements and all your behind-the-scenes work including reassuring a frazzled bride did not go unnoticed even for a minute!
Jeff, I have to tell you that each and every person I spoke to both that night as well as those I’m connecting with since have all told me the same thing – our wedding was by FAR the best wedding that they have EVER attended! Jacob’s grandfather on his dads side hasn’t spoken more than 15 words to me in the last 5 years and I almost fell off my chair when he came up and told me that our wedding kicked ass and that his experience at weddings in the future will forever pale in comparison to ours….
