From the moment my fiancé and I booked DJ Haymaker until the moment we said I do, Jeff was nothing but professional, helpful, and just plain awesome. He offered his expertise when needed but also went out of his way to make our wedding day exactly what we envisioned. He’s practically magic, somehow playing music that appeals to multiple generations. Our dance floor was literally packed the whole night and even those family and friends who “don’t dance” couldn’t help themselves.
Jeff was readily available via phone, text , or email at any time. He even took the time to phone my MC so that they could work together to make sure the day flowed smoothly. My fiancé and I have had non stop feedback about how much fun the whole reception was and how they have never had so much fun on the dance floor before. I was not the bride at the wedding but I was everything else, the planner, the florist, the photographer, the sister of the groom, plus I had three of my own young kids attending. I felt a lot of pressure for everything to go smoothly so when Jeff showed up and took over it was such a relief. He is a wedding expert and understands the flow of a wedding, how to keep people entertained, and is extremely well spoken. As a DJ he keeps the dance floor hopping all night long and has the ability to read a crowd and play music without being “told” or “asked”. And his smile and demeanor just prove that he loves what he does! Thanks Jeff, because of you I actually got to sit back and enjoy my brothers wedding.
Jeff was the best to work with for our wedding! Not only was he an amazing DJ but he also:
-Did the music for the ceremony and signaled when everyone was supposed to go down the aisle…
-MCed the reception and did an awesome job making everyone laugh with his wild and outlandish introductions of the bridal party…
-He was an extremely big help to the bride! You can call him anytime and talk about anything good or bad about your wedding. He offers to be the in between for vendors and does not mind jumping in and telling everyone else to back down or do things a different way if its not to your liking. I called several times about music and ended up venting about other things that had happened and he was a huge help with solutions and just a friendly ear.
-He had a timeline which he gives to you to go through and make changes to if need be for the whole day. He is very organized and had a package for me to fill out about everything he could possibly need, mine kept changing a lot with the bridal party but he was great and on top of it. For those who aren’t very good at making decisions or know what you want he is perfect! He has so many ideas and great music choices even if you have a couple must plays he fills everything else in for you and makes it a party!
On top of that his DJing skills were awesome!He has several games to play and lots of Fun props to use. His survival game is lots of fun and super funny. He gets everyone, young and old, into the games. Everyone had a blast with them and they were hilarious to watch! Everyone was laughing and smiling AND on the dance floor, it was never empty!
During and after the reception he was one of the main things everyone was talking about with how awesome everything went. How great the ceremony was and how perfect the music was for it and how everything flowed so well with the ceremony and reception. From the hilarious introductions to the games the got everyone out of their seats. He had great flow and just knew exactly what to do at each moment to keep everyone happy. Even now several weeks after our wedding people are talking about how awesome and beautiful it was and how much more amazing the DJ made it.
Not only did he make sure the guests had fun but he also made sure we were having fun. He kept making sure we had time to ourselves and breaks to just enjoy the day and kept reminding us to not stress and just have fun together. That it was our day and we could do what we want to enjoy it together. It goes by so fast and you are so busy sometimes you just forget to enjoy what you have spent so long planning but with Jeff around he made sure we didn’t!
He was supportive of everything and just gave us the peace of mind to just not stress and enjoy our day.
We and all our guests had a great time and it was a day that none of us will forget and Jeff is one of the big reasons for that.
Jeff Hay was an amazing DJ, he really made our party. It was such a small wedding with mostly just family I was afraid that the party would be a flop but Jeff got us rocking with his great energy, fun games, and amazing musical knowledge.
He learned people’s names and had lots of great interaction with all of the guests all night long, always knowing what to play to keep people moving.
And the best part was the compliments afterwards. Everyone at the party really enjoyed themselves and wanted to know where we found such an awesome DJ.
Planning a wedding is stressful! When we met with Jeff it was a huge relief to know one part of the wedding planning was in great hands. He made us feel comfortable and wanted to know history and what family and friends were like to make sure his service fit into our group.
Not only did we need a DJ but we also needed an MC for the night and Jeff was able to do both. At the reception everything Jeff told us would happen did! The games were amazing and our group did nothing but laugh with them!
Our group walked away in amazement of how awesome of a job he did and will be talking about if for a long time!
We recommend him for anyone needing a DJ/MC and so will our friends and family!!!!

Alain & I, Jane, had about 40 days to plan our wedding which is full of decision making. We had to decide on a DJ, I was seriously considering Jeff Haymaker because a friend highly recommended him. I went to the bank to see if my budget could handle him. I told the bank clerk about Jeff and she said with great excitement, “we had him at our wedding & he was worth every penny”. So we decided to get him to help us make our wedding experience fun & memorable. We were lucky to get him because he actually had another possible booking the same day.
Jeff met with us before the wedding to get to know us & gave us a number of helpful ideas. He helped with the actual ceremony. We also had him as our Master of Ceremony & DJ. He kept things flowing, interesting & fun. He had several ice breaking games, a huge tickle truck with funny hats and props. The dance floor was full all evening with dancing people with goofy hats and smiles on their faces. All throughout the night people commented on the great job our DJ was doing.
We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves because we could trust him to run the show. We did not regret having him as a big part of our day.
I would like to add that as we look at the pictures and talk with friends about our wedding the comments have been, ”That was the funniest wedding I’ve ever been at, What a Blast.
We really enjoyed planning our wedding reception entertainment with Jeff Hay! It was great to get to meet him several times leading up to our event. He shared great song ideas, many of which we used for our formal dances. What’s more is he shared many tips and tricks about the evening’s proceedings that helped us organize other aspects of the night (games, speeches, etc.). We were able to use many of our own song ideas and he did a great job blending them together with “standard wedding dance music.”
Jeff was there all afternoon, which gave him a chance to meet several of the guests, which made for a great lead-in for the reception and dance afterwards. We also used his wedding MC services which took the pressure off our family and friends. He did the basic MC duties (introducing the wedding party, introducing the speakers, etc) but on top of that he incorporated a couple fun games that allowed the guests to get to know not only us, but eachother better.
DJ Haymaker was an incredible DJ/Entertainer at our wedding. He is extremely professional, fun, and definitely creates the party vibe for any event. He is extremely thorough and gets to know the bride and groom on a personal level. To guests it seems that he is a close family friend instead of a hired entertainer. The party vibe never died, the dance floor was always packed, the games were fun, and he had ourselves and our guests in hysterical bouts of laughter. He kept in touch and offers wedding planning advise throughout your entire engagement if need be. He takes your visions and turns them into a reality. He is worth every penny. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding, and our guests have raved about our DJ. Number one DJ in the Okanagan for sure!
DJ Haymaker was an absolute blast. He was extremely helpful and courteous in all aspects that he was involved in with our wedding. From giving us helpful tips and answering questions on what or how something could be done, hilariously introducing our wedding party (everyone loved it), having our guests play his awesome survivor game or playing a mix of music so all the guests were out on the dance floor.
